More about the architect

Palazzo Donghi

Concept

Respecting the ancient structures of the Palace and preserving the distribution of the original apartments, all the Palazzo Donghi’s furniture have been designed with the aim of creating an interior landscape made up of objects that have the sense of real ‘miniature architecture’.
The colour and grain of the rosewood furniture contrasts with the whitewashed walls and marble floors, creating a scene of sculptural objects.

Entrance hall

The entrance, with its fluid forms, functions as a transitional space between the palace staircase and the private rooms. The shape of the wooden shell draws the room, allowing the old walls and vaulted ceilings of the house to be seen.

Suite

The door to the Suite opens in the entrance hall. The room, consisting of a vestibule and a large room, is distributed by a central piece of furniture that houses the double bed.

The bathroom is paved in grey Basaltina stone in contrast with the walls covered in white ceramics.

False Mirror Apartment

The False Mirror Apartment is located on the level of the Palace’s old mezzanines; a staircase covered with grey sandstone connects it to the entrance level. The colours of the furnishings are light, white and pale pink, and the large cupboard under the cross vaults is decorated with a collage by False Mirror Office.

Noble Apartment

The main flat contains the large hall on the noble floor. Prismatic elements of Rosewood connect the kitchen and living areas. The bedroom houses a structure organised on two levels which emphasises the height of the room.
